The purpose of this class is to learn the basic skills of performing a duct blaster test meeting specifications required in the proposed 2018 IECC Energy Code and the 2021 Mechanical Code.  Students of the Duct Blaster Testing class will understand the concept and demonstrate the following:

1.     Calculate the square footage of homes

2.     Run a duct blaster at 25 Pascals

3.     Use the TEC Auto Test app to geo tag, time and date stamp, auto calculate duct leakage and determine if the duct meets code

4.     Explain and successfully test for implications of duct leakage as it relates to the percentage of equipment-rated air flow and measured air flow with equipment running

5.     Ability to calculate the BTU cost and loss and gain of the duct leakage to a homeowner or builder.
