The American Heart Association BLS CPR course is designed to provide participants with the essential skills to repsond to life-threatening emergencies. The course includes hands-on training in CPR and AED use, as well as the ability to relieve choking in adults. It is suitable for people with little to no medical training and is offered as an in-person, four-hour, class session. Upon completion, participants receive a course completion card which is valid for two years. The course is available for healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, EMTs, paramedics, and others who need to manage cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Note: This course does not include First Aid (see Heartsaver CPR) which is often needed in daycare and education type settings.
